Please send me your free pattern, a rose by any other name brooch.

    • Hi Doris, the pattern is above, below the photograph. It’s very short!

I have recently been making some in aran tweed wool, rather than the mohair and they look lovely. I’ll add some photos soon. I’d love to see photos of any you make!

Thanks for sharing. I received a similar brooch done in boiled wool with accompanying leaves, and have been trying to figure out how to make one.

Thanks, this is the perfect way to use up spare yarn!

This is lovely and a great way to use small skeins of handspun. Thanks for sharing it!

Is this done with straight or circular needles?

    • It is knitted straight, not in the round. I did it on straights but you could use circs without joining. You knit it straight but because of the simple decreases it will naturally curl into a spiral shape.

Hi I’ve put my version of your rose up on Ravelry in my projects (id alikat2004). I’ve also made a ring with a flower, a bracelet with 4 flowers but they don’t have pics yet. Love this pattern!

what are the dimensions, basically diameter of the finished product? I think i may need to make it bigger. i love the look of the flower and can’t wait to give it a try. Thanks for sharing

    • Hi Laura, it depends what needle and yarn combo you use. The one I made turned out brooch size. I no longer have it but maybe 3 inches diameter if I recall correctly. Lots of people have made it on Ravelry, why not take a look for some ideas there?
